Babe Ruth League President
and CEO,
Steven Tellefsen
-
“Babe
Ruth League, Inc. prides itself on being a
community-based program where there is a place for all
residents, young and old. Vincennes, Indiana is the
perfect Babe Ruth community. They are the oldest city
in Indiana with captivating small town charm where
everyone knows and cares about each other, but with ‘big
city style’.
The Vincennes Cub League has
been a part of our
Babe
Ruth Family since 1982, offering a wholesome baseball
program for families to spend time together having fun
and creating many memorable moments.
-
-
The Vincennes Cub League has
played host to at least 15 Babe Ruth Regional and
countless State and District Tournaments. They have
also hosted 110 World Series games and welcomed teams
from 28 states and five foreign countries. Hosting a
Babe Ruth tournament or World Series has a high economic
impression on the hosting community, especially the
local hotels, restaurants, businesses and resort areas.
-
-
Vincennes has always been the ideal
‘home-away-from home’ for our tournament participants
and visiting guests. Because of the unique cultural and
social exchange experienced during a tournament hosted
by Vincennes, many of the participants and visiting
guests return after the tournament is over to renew
friendships and once again experience the beautiful
corner of the world known as Vincennes, Indiana.”
Vincennes Cub League is a non-profit
organization whose primary purpose is to provide a positive baseball
experience to boys and girls in our area.
Over 600 players between the ages of four and fifteen-years-old register
to play each summer, and over 400 baseball games
were played at the five Cub League diamonds.
Vincennes Cub League is affiliated with Babe Ruth Baseball, Inc. and
includes the Cal Ripken Division for ages four to
twelve. In addition to league play, Vincennes Cub League hosts
districts, state and regional tournaments each year. Five Cal Ripken
World Series have been hosted at the Cub League Complex as well.
